Flavour Flings has been known for two things in the halal scene- salted egg, and raclette cheese. They’ve served their famous salted egg-filled croissant since 2016 and has not rested on their laurels since, balancing their familiar favourites which have now become staples of the cafe, and merging the two at times.This time, they have a new menu and wanted the halalfoodhunt team to try. 1. Chicken Cutlet with Swiss Raclette

Original price: $23.90With FRIENDS Pass: $21.51What it is: Deep fried breaded chicken with house braised sauce, served with a side of baked potatoes, salad greens and topped with Melted Raclette Cheese.Our verdict: Usually, this dish is served with red meat but recently, they have included a chicken option for variety and for those who cannot take beef. The batter is soooooo crispy, even though it is sauce-based (ain’t nobody got time for crispy rendang) we’re not lying,  There were three pieces of chicken breast and. They. Were. So. Juicy. We think that the portion is just nice for sharing and especially good for kids.

2. Hot Beef Mee ($15.90)

Original price: $15.90With FRIENDS Pass: $14.31What it is: House braised sauce with NZ Beef Striploin Slices, chili padi and spring onions.Our verdict: Chili fans out there, this is for you. The whole dish is furnished with Chili Padi that could get you in tears. The brown sauce is the same sauce used for the chicken cutlet base. The Striploin slices are so generous, just like what you see in the picture below. Overall, we feel that this is a good dish to try out for a change from the cheesy dishes at Flavour Flings, especially if you’re a fan of fusion food.

3. Salted Egg Yolk Brick Toast

Original price: $13.90With FRIENDS Pass: $12.51What it is: Brioche Thick Loaf with salted egg yolk lava in the middle (surprise center), house cranberry sauce, house cookie crumbs, banana slices and choice of (1) ice cream.Our verdict: Due to popular demand, this brick toast is making it’s comeback. At Flavour Flings, you MUST order this to put a closure to your visit. The surprise center of their signature salted egg sauce really got us. The vanilla ice cream is not like any other, so rich and we could see and taste the crushed vanilla beans! The whole platter is served in such a way that you’ll be able to savour the whole experience with something sweet, rich, salty and savoury. Perfect, we tell you. Seriously perfect! We would come back just to try this again.
