Open Crumb Cafe
If not for the enticing aroma of oven-baked bread with an overlaying tang of spices trailing in the air like warm hugs on cold mornings, and a steaming cuppa coffee spilling onto the main road, it would definitely be a challenge finding this bistro.Sitting in between quintessential old school shops under the block, Open Crumb somehow fits right in but don’t let it fool you though. Theyâve only recently made a home in Ubi earlier this year.
Sweet treats @ Open Crumb Cafe
Bidding farewell to The Bread Project Bakery, Joy, the head baker and owner, decided to begin a new chapter with Open Crumb Cafe. Having been well recognised for its fresh artisan breads, one would have thought it would have been a rough transition but regular customers have yet to despair. Many simply rerouted to the ovens of Open Crumb to get their usual fare instead.Transitioning into a cafe, the bakers at the bistro didn’t want to create boundaries for their love of food. Hence together with Lin, a graduate of the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu, Joy decided to recreate the food they enjoyed eating the most, as a direction for the cafĂ©. Turns out, this bold move is paying off.

Decadent and luxurious.
Kid Friendly and Healthy Bakes Available
In the midst of whipping up these gorgeous items, the pair also makes sure to whisk in their ideals of being both health-conscious and ingredient-cautious into their menu. If you asked for a singular dish to be broken down, it is certain to set your stomach and hearts to rest, for everything has either been made from scratch, or sourced from the trusted.Education of what is consumed is important to the ladies behind this restaurant and they make sure to integrate this into their bread-baking workshops or cupcake-making parties for kids. This unsurprisingly homely restaurant also has a variety of toys and games to appease the children, or our inner child â aside from the desserts of course so your kids or nieces and nephews have plenty to occupy them on their visit.Thereâs just something special about Open Crumb that makes you wish you knew about it earlier. After all how can one go wrong when the neighbourhood cat has chosen itâs spot by the doorway to greet you whatever the weather.
